Sometimes, when I look into religions, I feel like the emperor with no clothes. Really? People fight over things like this?
In my view, religion is ultimately about storytelling.
Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Buddha—they're all similar. I don't understand why people go to such lengths to emphasize their uniqueness. The emergence of Christianity from Judaism and Islam from Christianity is no different from the process of evolution, where organisms adapt to their given environments. Just as humanity shares a common ancestor, religions share common stories, evolving to suit their contexts.
Following a power-law distribution, even within the same format, some stories succeed while others fail. The successful few dominate the majority of attention. Isn’t that the right way to understand the religions of the world today?
